Nope. I've corresponded a good bit with Jack (though not recently), and you
can forget about that. And really; there are better and easier ways to
garner email addresses than an elaborate ruse involving a limited-appeal
item like GPaL anyway, don't you think? What happened with GPaL was that
real life reached in and put it on the back burner. A lot of work went into
it, and some people (not me) got early partial versions that had problems.
So it wasn't ready for primetime anyway. That's just what happens sometimes
when people write freeware programs in their spare time. I'd guess he
wishes he hadn't promoted it quite so much, but who knows? We may see it
yet.
