GPaL : what does it stand for ?

Hi

There has been some interesting news
on this GPaL

What does this stand for ?

I thought it would be interesting if there is
a " Setup assistant " who will prompt several
questions and then proceed to do the rather
complicated setup for us.
Some kind of AI

Is there such a thing ??

Leong...

Well, GPaL is not an acronym for anything, if that's what you are wondering.
The name is simply intended to indicate that the product is a companion (a
"pal") product to GPL. Nothing more than that. :)

Hope you give it a try and enjoy it!

"Acronym; a word formed from the initial letters of other words."
(Collins dictionary)

Seems like an acronym to me, Jack!

Speaking of "setups assistance"...  Give or take, about a year ago,
there was a program that would look at a replay and give you information
such as.. Slip angles, Lap times, Speeds carried at intervals of one
foot, show you the line you took for each lap, ect.. ect..  I can't
remember the name of that program at all.  All I do remember is that it
was for the N2 and that I couldn't understand what a slip angle was ;-)
Driving GPL, I now can tell what the car is doing and know what a Slip
angle is.

I don't remember who wrote that program, But if any of you do...
Please contact him and ask him to build one for GPL.

Leong...

I'm not currently developing anything related to "setup AI" but I am working
on a setup management/comparison screen that will make it easier to 1) move
setups between cars and drivers and 2) identify differences in setups.
Perhaps in a subsequent version, some "AI" could be added to further enhance
this.

My intent is too grow GPaL into an all-inclusive suite of tools to support
GPL, so I welcome feedback like yours!

(Thanks, Michael. Your post made me realize that I had not responded to the
second half of Leong's post. Oops! Sorry.)

This is good news Jack.  This is exactly what I've been looking for.

I started playing around with setups and am always trying to find the
differences between setups.

A feature to copy and paste fields between setups would be great.

Can't wait to try it.
