GPaL Final Screen Locked Down

Well, the final GPaL screen design has been locked down and is available for
your perusal at www.RaceLive.com/GPaL.

The screen's been completely reorganized with controls grouped logically by
functional area. Tabs have been added to give you easy access to more
features. But fear not, all the controls you'll generally need day-to-day,
race-after-race are still located on the main tab, which has been christened
"Race Central".

The screen has also grown to 800 x 600. My apologies to the handful of GPL
drivers who are still working on a 640 x 480 desktop (1.9 % of those
responding to the survey) but the feedback received was overwhelmingly in
favor of the larger screen and there was simply no more screen real estate
to be had at the smaller size.

While you're at the site, make sure you check out the updated Features page
(www.RaceLive.com/GPaL/features.htm), and take the Driver Survey
(www.RaceLive.com/GPaL/survey001.htm) if you haven't done so already. If you
choose, you can jump on the mailing list from the survey form so that you'll
be notified the moment GPaL is ready for download.

Also, if you think you're now to fast to race with the AI, make sure you
check out AI Monaco Race Results page (www.RaceLive.com/GPaL/MonacoAI.htm)

Let me know what you think. I want GPaL to be a product that reflects your
input!

It won't be long now!

Thanks!

Jack,

This looks dialed.  What GPL shoulda been ...

(regarding the Monaco times)  Is there really that much grip to be
found :) They must be on long lasting gumball qualifiers ....

Jeff...

Thanks! The AI numbers are pretty amazing, aren't they? We'll never again be
able to say that we're not challenged by the AI (or *too* challenged by the
AI, for those that are just cutting their GPL teeth)! The little AI monsters
are riveting to watch at that speed!

It's fascinating how their feedback/control systems clearly seem to surpass
the ability of the human mind at those speeds...Perfect little AI minds
making perfect little AI decisions! We can only wish!

Jack
