Anybody knows if the same keyboard controls used in F1GP will be usable on
F1 GP 2 ? (same keyb mappings ?)

Who the hell wants control the car with a keyboard?

At least, buy a joystick. A very good choice would
be Gravis Analogue Pro!

When I played it, the keys were exactly the same. Anyway, you can always
configure the keys to suit yourself.

Wow, I never saw the keyboard hidden in Schumi's car - does he use one
or is he not a "real" driver?

Whhel/Pedal is better than joystick is better than keyboard....

ME ! And many others believe me. A matter of preference....

Have one. I prefer the keyboard, sorry !
For ICR2, since the keyboard sucks, I prefer the joystick. Short of a
wheel, a joystick is just as unrealistic as a keyboard 9seen one in A f1
lately?). I'm a flight sim kinda guy, so sticks just don't feel right in
my hand to drive a car. To shoot down a mig, that's a different story !
What's the deal with analogue sticks, though ? It's the second time I
hear that one. I use a Thrustmaster with ICR2 and am starting to get a
good feel for the car. Is that a non-analugue stick (what, digital ?).
What's the difference ? And what do you do with both sticks on only one
port ?

Oh, I see, you must be very smart. And who, may I ask , made you the judge
of which control people use when playing that game ? As long as it gets
the job done.... as I said before, a joystick is equally unrealistic, and
even sterring wheels for computers (basically a one axis mouse) don't kick
back or transmit any feeling whatsoever. If you don't know the answer of
the question, why don't you refrain from stupid comments like that ?  TIA
for the next time you shut up. And thanks to the one person who answered.

Well said !  I like the keyboard better and hope it will be possible
to play the F1GP2 with it. The joystick and sterring wheels are
analog, aren't they ? So it should be better to play with but, I
don't think so....

Actually the T2 has variable-response springs (i.e., the wheel resists
harder the more you push it) which provides an extremely realistic
feel. I can't beleive I used to play with a joystick!

You should try the Thustmaster T2 before you say this ... there is
absolutely no comparison between this wheel and using a joystick
and/or keyboard. If you don't beleive me, find a local modem-racer who
has one. I guarentee you won't even be able to stay close to them
using the keyboard, no matter what your relative driving skills.

I heard on some television show (American, dunno which one) that very soon
joysticks will have motors in them to simulate motion. Two examples they
cited were flight sims and DRIVING sims!!! I believe they said by this summer
we should see the first of these hitting the market.
