F1GP Traction Control

The other day I thought I'd "do the right thing" and take off Traction Control
(since the '94 cars are *supposed* to not have it any more).  Having done this
though - I found the car very hard to drive.

It occoured to me that with it OFF - you're basically driving with a binary
accelerator pedal.  Presumably you're either on FULL throttle or ZERO throttle.
This must be much less realistic, because NOBODY really drives like this.
It gives you NO chance to balance the throttle etc.

Well anyway, it may just be a feeble excuse, but I got fed up and switched it
back on again!

PS: What is this Steering Help thing?  I've noticed that the car DOES often
have a mind of it's own - but I've never seen an option to turn it off.
I AM a genuine owner - and HAVE received the "modem play" update from
Microprose - but nothing since.
