Depends what you mean. Not in the middle of a race, fine, but surely
there has to be one if you're doing a championship!

Depends a *lot* on how good peripheral vision / virtual***pit is.

You've never watched one of those Wolfgang Woeger GPL replays, then?

Suits me - traction control on a 1938 Auto Union is ridiculous. Much
more sensible to include cars that really are easier to drive as well
as the difficult ones in the package.

Why not? This thing is supposed to be hugely extensible, so all those
should be possible.

Fine.

See answer to 5, 6, 7. There's no really good kart sim around now, so
it would be nice to have one.

Agree if you mean *instead* of real ones. ***ly disagree if you
mean even as addons - why shouldn't players have the choice to drive
a Pantsring if they want? And what's "fantasy" anyway? Is Milano
fantasy? Is 1970s F1 cars at Brooklands fantasy? Is a reversed
Silverstone fantasy? Etc etc etc.

That's just silly - all that would result in is vast numbers of
online pileups, unless you banned all non-aliens.

Yep.

The first is silly. The second is obvious. But *don't* make us enter
stupid hex codes from a code wheel or the like, and *don't* have a
copy-protection system that doesn't work on some PCs or prevents
backups being made.

Nope.

Some I agree with, like the "F10" view.  However, 2 baffle me.  No NASCAR?
Why dont you want that?  If you dont like NASCAR, fine, dont do it.  Why not
have for those of us who enjoy racing fender to fender?  F1 is boring... the
feild is seperated by 3 seconds, why not race with cars within a half
second?  Second, no AI?  What possible benefit can come from NOT having AI
to race against offline?

I look forward to your response when your lead of a 6 hour enduro race at
Monza gets ruined on the last lap at parabolica at monza by someone who
couldnt do any more offline practice because of some hardware problems and
the time limit of practice died on them

Similarly the person who take you out at T1 of a long race because it's the
first ever start they've done.

Bit of an ***take on reality if you ask me.

Reality - sure - but common sense should also be in there to.

If a publisher doesnt give out a demo -I refuse to pay for a title without
trying it first.

If I like it - I buy it ( f12002 for eg - there was a demo for this - but I
d'ld the whole version to try the other tracks)

If I dont - I dont ( GP4 )

RL will have a Demo - so no need to pirate it

"David G Fisher" Said:

This stuff was actually pretty funny!  Made me LOL :-))

But then comes the (usual?) B.S:

That still dont make football or F1 fior that matter a bit more
interresting...  Soccer to me is one of the dullest and most boring things
there ever was. I can think of a milllion other things I'd rather do than
sit and watch 22 idiots run after a ball for 90 minutes.
If you want to compare F1 to that -  fine by me!

Futhermore:

Ahh!! Now let us think about this for a second David:

Let say I had a time-machine too...   and I got hold of say a bunch of
AK-47's rifles with ammo to spare...  And then I went back to Julius
Caesar's time and presented him with this gift...  I'm pretty  sure he'd
sell his brother, kill his mother and poison Cleo just to get his hand on
them... cause his jaws too would be on the ground.....    That still don't
make it a good thing!

I have no idea why you seem to have such a big thing against anything
historic or why you seem tyo think so high of F1....  but please consider
this;  some of us are NASCAR fans, others - like yourself - are Formula1
fans.. Then there's a third group who, like myself, are motorsport
enthusiasts (sp?); if it look nice, go fast, sound mindblowing or handle
well; we might like it for just that single reason!

Any fool here can understand that a modern racecar today is both faster,
handles better and got more power compared to it's "anchestors" (sp?)....
Just like any fool can understand that Caesar would have been way better of
with a bunch of AK-47 rifles than of swords and spears...
It is the natural way of evolution....  Things will improve and evolve over
time - there's no stopping that no matter how one tries...

My point is that although we can't stop things from evolving - we sure as
hell can be free to choose if we want to like it or not.

Some of us prefer the AK-47, while others still like the sword or spear.
- Just like some of us would rather fly a Mk IX Spritfire from WWII than a
modern F-18 jet fighter.....

Just because one decide to choose the other option - dosn't mean one dont
understand the other - it might just be an indication that one is
interrested in 'the other part or the game'.....

Why not?  For 1, why would it bother you if someone else was able to save an
offline game?  For 11 and 14, you'd rather people just join races without
practice?  Sounds like wreck city...

Soccer is boring to me too. :-)

although we can't stop things from evolving - we sure as

I don't have anything against historic cars. Why would I? I only
occasionally make negative remarks in response to the continued ***ing and
moaning about modern F1 that I've read from historic car fans (yes, mostly
GPL'ers) over the past four years or so. Gerry's wish that modern F1 cars be
omitted from WRL was yet another moan and the ONLY reason I even replied to
his post. Surely you understood that. You just chose to ignore his slam on
modern F1 (and NASCAR/karts) and focus on my response because you like
historic cars too. Historic car fans get upset if I say something they
perceive as critical, right? Well I don't exactly appreciate it when I open
a thread and out of the blue some jack ass says that the sim me and many
others enjoy is a pile of shit because the cars are ***and the tracks are
crap, blah, blah, blah.

If someone says they like historic cars because they remind them of a cool
time in their life, they liked the cars and tracks, and there were some
drivers then who they admired, etc, that's great. I just don't need to hear
that the cars/drivers/tracks today suck along with it. Like I said,
drivers/engineers/mechanics from the past would of given up those old cars
in a millisecond for MS's Ferrari.

BTW, I'm not exactly thrilled if WRL is going to be initially released as a
late 60's only sim, but I'll still buy it immediately.

What would your opinion be if someone takes you out on the first lap of a 6
hour enduro race
