CH Wheel and Pedal Set.

I was about to buy the Thrustmaster T2, but saw the CH Virtual Pilot wheel and pedal set yesterday (I think it is around the same price). Has anyone out there used it for F1GP or ICR2?
How does it compare with the T2?

Regards,
Paul.

Paul,
I would not recommend the CH Virtual Pilot for auto racing.  I
bought the VP Pro and am not satisfied with it for that purpose.  It's OK
for flying games, but it is too sensitive for Nascar Racing.  It is
unusable in the linear steering mode, which is what Papyrus says should
be selected for a wheel.  Non-linear makes it much more manageable but it
is still not right.  The CH pedals are great.  I am considering a wheel
called Per4mer or something like that.  Electronic Boutique said if I
wasn't satisfied with it for any reason they would take it back.  Another
dealer has the  T2 for $132, but they won't let me try it first or make
the same deal.  I'm not going to spend that kind of money anymore without
a deal.

I don't have the T2, but I do have a CH-VPP and CH-Pedals. They are
much better than a joystick, I have found, but I am sure they can't
compare with a T2. First off, the VPP wheel is pretty fragile, and it
only turns to about 2:00/10:00. The pedals seem very well built, but I
have found them to be nearly impossible to drive with one foot- that
is, now I always keep left foot on brake, right foot on accellerator.
(maybe that is how Indy racers do? I don't know).  The T2 looks like a
better bet, unless you do a lot of flight sims.

Many thanks for the information ( and thanks to you also PJ). I think I've avoided a mistake here.
Was the $132 US or Canadian? I am still looking for a dealer that stocks the T2 in the Ottawa area.

Paul

Paul,  That was $132 US currency. Good luck.

Get the T2 instead. The T2 has about a 260 degree wheel lock while the CH
Virtual Pilot/Virtual Pilot Pro has a 90 degree wheel lock. I've tried both
and the Virtual Pilot is too twitchy for driving... the T2 allows smoother
control.

Chips & Bits (1-800-699-4263) sells the Thrustmaster T2 for $108
