DirectX v5 PROBLEM

by Bruce Kennewel » Thu, 04 Sep 1997 04:00:00

I wonder if someone could please offer some advice on the following
problem:
1. DirectX v5 installed on a machine running a Rendition 3-D card.
2. Under Windows95/Control Panel/Game Controllers, it sees my T1or joystick
as installed.
3. Click on the "Properties" button in this screen and nothing
happens....it won't allow me to calibrate the wheel (or any 'game
controller'.)
4. Install DX5 on a machine with a standard 2-D Trident card.
5. Plug in wheel/joystick, go to Control Panel/Game Controllers and the
"Properties" button works, allowing me to calibrate.

Why won't it work on the machine with the Rendition card?

The only differences between the two systems are the CPU (166 and 100) and
the amount of memory (32 and 16).  Soundcards are identical.

If you have any suggestions could you please email me at

This is causing rapid hair loss :-)
