Hi everyone,

got some more news from Papy's Mike Lescault about Grand Prix Legends:

1.Bottom-out: After having a close look at the new AVI you can see
how amazingly detailed the suspension movement is.
The idea of having a bottom-out came to my mind
immediately and I asked Mike about it. He said that the
cars will be able to bottom-out. But, not enough, this
will not just be some little 'special effect', no the
collision between the chassis and the ground will be
              precisely modelled!
              Wow!

2. Open wheel danger: If you drive over s.o. wheel the cars will behave
like a real car would (Lift off!). So be careful!
Papyrus will even model the sidewalls of the
tires. That means, if you brush a wall the side
of the tire will cause the car to climb a little.
(The Papy guys seem to be really dedicated to
                       perfection!)

3. Tire types: GPL will feature different tire types and they will
have different characteristics. Mike could not confirm
if this will be Goodyear, Firestone etc. as he can't
comment on anything that is in licensing negotiations,
right now. (But I can't imagine any real problems there.)

4. Random breakdowns: At this time it's not certain if random break-
                      downs will be in GPL.
(I didn't use that option in other sims, anyway.)

5. Tracks: A new track licensing has been confirmed to be done:
In GPL we will see the glorious 14km long classic version
of the belgian (public) road track Spa-Francorchamps!
I can't tell you how happy I am about this. This 'high speed
triangle' in the belgian Ardennes is a real tempo temple.

6. General state: The 'general state' of the game is still pre-alpha.

Cheers,

-Thorsten Rueter
