After two months of VROCing, I've so far concluded the following:

Most of the quick guys drive a Lotus
Trying to read a chat message mid corner is a bad idea
Trying to respond to a chat message mid corner is an even worse idea
Being overtaken by a BRM somehow hurts more than normal
You're never as quick as you think you are
Most VROCers are polite, patient people
;-)

Re:ing below to ur 2month conclusions aka impressions Craig

| After two months of VROCing, I've so far concluded the following:
|
| Most of the quick guys drive a Lotus

Wait awhile. Most "of the quick guys" {& one gal! don't forget Alison! <g>}
do *not* drive the Lotus chassis! Many of the "hotshoes" [I am not one!]
drive all the chassis-zz...

| Trying to read a chat message mid corner is a bad idea

Reading isnt bad after awhile!! ...lol

| Trying to respond to a chat message mid corner is an even worse idea

Trying to type anywhere on any track has always ended me right in
a hedge, tree, burm etc. I can not type while racing GPL!! N4 is a
little easier..<g>

| Being overtaken by a BRM somehow hurts more than normal

Ouch! that does hurt but if it was Mr Huttu or Mr Woeger then it
wouldnt hurt as badly..lol

| You're never as quick as you think you are

Now this is a **fact**!!! <bg>

| Most VROCers are polite, patient people ;-)

Yup they are! Also extremely helpful newbies in chat! Of course
I havent been a newbie for about 2+yrs now.. :-)
Cheers Thom_j.

Well... yes and no. As far as I can tell from my viewpoint (ie when
being lapped), most top drivers drive summat else, whether for the
challenge, the change or whatever I dunno. Personally, I used to love
the Lotus, but now driver the Ferrari more often (especially at the
Glen, as I have a rock-solid setup there).

Heh. You could always use GPLome, a prog which allows you to program
the function keys[1] for various messages ("GLA", "Sorry", "You stupid
***y prat" etc).

[1] Reminds me of the BBC Micro all those years ago[2]
[2] Well, and now, actually, 'cause I've still got one and it's
lovely[3]
[3] Yes, I do read comp.sys.sinclair[4]
[4] That's enough footnotes - Ed.
