Indeed! Last weekend with BTi was so bad for web access with a typical
co.uk page taking somewhere in the region of 2 - 3 minutes to download,
whereas with my BTClick connection co.uk pages averaged less than 30
seconds. BTi's excuse seems to be 'well, we weren't prepared for such a
high demand.' This excuse doesn't wash with me. What that says to me
is they were prepared enough to have the modem racks installed, but
hadn't done the maths to allow for a decent enough bandwidth if all
those racks were used at the same time. In which case, why put so many
racks in then?
Sorry to be a bit OT here, but the main reason I went with free weekend
access was to play GPL online without having to worry about cost and yet
I'm not getting the benefits that I was expecting, because these paid
for free weekend services don't seem to be playing fair at the moment by
just about catering for the bare minimum requirements of internet
service. :(
