Need help for edimensional 3d glasses and trackIR in GPL

by Rolf Weseman » Fri, 09 May 2003 16:05:25

Hi,

after reading a great review in blackhole motorsports, I bought edimensional
3d glasses (the wireless version) and the trackIR.

1.
I installed the glasses and tested it in:

F1 2002: works great
GTR 2002: works great
Nascar season 2003: works unbelievable good

but I cannot get it to work with GPL (and thats why I bought it):
- no 3D effects
- menue screen has text and icons far from each other
- the hot keys for edimansional glasses dont work with GPL

 Can someone guide me to the great 3d effects in GPL?

2.
I tried to set up GPLshift, but I cannot get it to work because of my
understandings. Can a very kind one send me a working .ini for GPLshift,
that will work with my new trackIR?

Thanks in advance

Rolf

Have you experienced any problems that one should know about before buying
these.

Was thinking about the wireless ones but is the wireless technology they use
working well?

I also heard they don't have software for ATI cards yet.

Hello,

Here are the settings I have tested.
I have not tested it too much, but you should get it to work with
these settings and then adjust the effects using the TrackIR software.

Edit the GPLShift.ini and find the section [ LOOK LEFT/RIGHT ]
Then set the following values :

Left_Right_Mode = 1.MOU
LookLeftRightDeadZone = 1
LookLRStartAngle = 0
LookLRMaxAngle = 45
LookLRResetButton = 1.7

Other values I have left as they were.
The reset button 1.7 is the last button in my MOMO wheel, and I think it is
god to have
on some button on your wheel, but the value depends on what wheel you have.
You could try with 0 deadzone though if you like.

BTW.
I read from the trackir-forum, that the new software version is coming,
probably at start of june, which has again
the keyboard mapping feature, which was dropped from the current latest
version.
Hopefully they make the keyboard support a good one. I really could use it
in n2003 and in opfp :)

I just received an e-mail 2 days ago that they now do support all ATI cards.
However, at the present time only for OpenGL and not D3D.  Check out their
website for more info.

I'd be interested after they add support for ATI's in D3D, as I can't get Open
GL to work properly in my Radeon9700Pro.

My glasses came with wicked drivers for use with all cards except Nvidia
cards. This includes ATI, Matrox, Kyro etc. they wrote. But they are working
constantly on new drivers. The Nvidia drivers, that are shippesd, are 30.82
ones, but you don't have to install them, you find newer stereo drivers at
www.guru3d.com for 4x.xx drivers. They work very fine and I'm getting 50 -
60 fps in GTR 2002 (Athlon 2600+, 768 MB RAM, Asus V 8420 Card (G4 TI 4200),
Asus A7N8X NForce 2 Board).

All is working fine, except GPL, but I think, I have to set special Hotkeys
for GPL to get it working.

According to a post on the ATI newsgroup, the e-Dimensional driver for ATI Radeons
is still a beta.  Just wanted to clarify.....
