Since GPL does not support Direct3D, and 3dfx boards are currently not supported by ELSA (I doubt they ever will),
the only possibilty would be using GPL, a Glide wrapper, and an ELSA X (anything else lacks performance). However
I do not know if the wrapper and the Relevator drivers are compatible.

Another possibility is to get hold of some old Metabyte glasses (the glasses are basically the same as ELSAs, the
transmitter and video dongle are different). They do support 3dfx (and meanwhile, btw, a whole lot of different
video boards, including Nvidia and Savage).
This solutions has some drawbacks (which are caused by GPL, not the glasses, and I would like to point out that N3
and NL do not work at all with these glasses. Thanks, Papy:/). It is necessary to use a Glide wrapper to get rid
of some corrupt textures, and the game is prone to crashing, if you crash, literally.
Not to mention the hassle involving choosing the right resolution, contrast, refresh rate etc. And I recommend a
decent (95kHz minimum) monitor.
Once it works, it is a blast (and makes my beloved green lawnmower even more difficult to handle):)

If you want to take a look of the potential of the glasses, give them a go with NFS:PU. Really impressive.

regards,
Andreas

Cant you do it with the ELSA ERAZOR III PRO which bundles with
the glasses. They say it uses the tnt2 processor - so cant it
work with the OpenGl patch for GPL?

55?? It's a giveaway! Can it be worth anything? You plug it between your pc
and monitor. So you can still use your monitor?
Wouldn't the Sony Glasstron system be a better alternative? (if adapted for
PC and 3D) because that has no screen in front of your eye. It prints the
image directly into your eye. Like what the colourcanon does to the screen
surface in a monitor. It gives the impression of watching a TV from distance
(I don't think it does 3D yet). Has anyone tested this?

To me it seems like you wear the glasses and look at your
monitor thru them.

If only it could work with GPL
