Just got a pair of Wicked3D''s EyeScream 3D Glasses and they are really cool
with games like Dethkarz and GPL.  Was wondering if anybody else is using them
and with what racing titles.

Have you tried them with any other racing games (F1RS or GP2)?

I assume you're running a VooDoo2 board, right?

Thanks in advance, these do look quite interesting (OK, and they're cheap
too!),

Well, I went and check out there site
http://www.wicked3d.com/eyescream.htm ), and it seems that you can order
them directly through there ... ~$129.00 (+shipping).

It would seem that you need a VooDoo2 card (or compatible, I guess) ...
which, of course, they also sell. I didn't see anything about a package deal
though.

Are these shutter glasses or an HMD?  I'm guessing
shutter - you get 3D visual effects with gpl?

My personal observations are that the glasses have never given me an
advantage in games. I still stink in GPL..... :^)

The effect is great, I agree, but for me, driving sims just don't seem
to lend themselves well to the glasses - GPL looks pretty much the same,
Motoracer  2 is the same story.  Viper Racing is a little buggy with the
glasses (I wish it used glide since the Metabyte glide wrapper seem to
work best). Surprisingly MS Cart Precision Racing works quite well and
the stereo effect seems to "pull" me into the game more (it's still CPR
though :^) ).  Monster Truck Madness 2 works also (the 2D***pit is
best turned off) except the trucks don't look real - they look like
little toys bouncing around "inside" the monitor.

Do You get different results?

What really blows me away, is how amazing Janes World War 2 Fighters
looks in stereo. The 3d scalable***pit "feels" real. Also, Janes F-15
looks great too but the F-15 2D***pit looks like a flat piece of paper
and causes frame rate problems.  Padlock on F-15 is smooth enough
though.

These are just 3D shutter glasses and GPL is a WHOLE NEW GAME.  Cars and track
objects pop out of the screen.  The driver arms extend out of the monitor and
the wheel appears to be a good 4 inches off the dash.  When you pass cars they
move off the surface of the screen and past your peripheral vision.

It's hot!

I've used them with

DethKarz - awesome
Powerslide - good
GPL - indescribable
F1RS - good
NFS3 - excellent
POD - good and fun for the game that it is

those rankings are for the 3D effects and not the game itself.

yes I'm using with a pair of Monster 2 Voodoo 2 cards in SLI mode.  800x600 is
acceptable but 1024x786 is incredible and with the RE2Flex drivers you can
overdrive your single Voodoo2 card to 1024x672 and your SLI combo up to
1024x1024 in software only with no overheating or anything - it works and its
amazing.  Even more amazing is that it works with ANY Voodoo2 card - not just
theirs.

Make sure you are using the proper STEREO.CFG file for Grand Prix Legends.
You say you didn't see any major difference and to me that is one of the biggest
games to actually show a difference.  Driving Monaco is actually like being
there.  Plus you can see every detail of the other cars poking out of the screen
and the track extends a good 20-30" beyond the surface of your monitor.

to buy go to www.wicked3D.com

for more info and my review go to www.mpog.com

For $129 - even as a novelty item they are worth the money.
There is support for over 200 games and they work with any existing Voodoo2 card
you may already have.  Plus they are wireless and reasonably comfortable.

You wear these glasses, use a FF wheel and sit in a Thunderseat and YOU WILL BE
RACING!  The only thing left is a big fan behind your monitor to blow in your
face and some "burning tire" incense.

They don't melt your eyes any more than a standard monitor do they?

My neighbour didn't have any problems wearing them over his glasses.
