Another N4 copy protection fiasco story

Well, I just read the entire N4 manual cover to cover and I am still only at
52% installed.

That's reading from a mapped drive to a CD-ROM on another machine on my LAN.
The LAN is 100 MB/s, so the CD drive itself is operating at about 1/100th of
it's normal speed.  I am using the other machine, because the DVD drive in
my machine cacks out at the second file in the installation with a blue
screen error telling me to clean the CD-ROM...

I am fairly sure the game won't even run once it eventually installs.

What brain dead morons at Sierra released this game with this system?
Either the copy protection scheme is unworkable or us loyal early-adopter
customers have  a bad batch of CDs.  Either way, Sierra will have to replace
the CD's with ones that work...at a major inconvenience and cost to all
involved.

Well, it's up to 56% now...

Marc.
