Lap Times

Im new to GPL, it appears that the pit board is giving lap times one lap past.
Is there a way to view active lap times, for example, when I cross the
start/finish line can I see the lap time for the lap I just completed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Go to GPLEA forum http://www.kotr.de/org/ and do a search for Roebling.

If you're racng offline, hit F2 and watch the replay until you've passed the
finish line; it shows your new lap on the header. then "escape" and "pause"
to continue your new lap.

Cheers

Howdy ho SCUPPERS28,

After you visit Andreas Frank's site (see Maxx's post below), come visit my site

cut n paste from high gear gpl forum

If you want to see the time of the lap you have just finished at Monza (and
not the one before that) it's an easy edit. Go to your
gpl/tracks/monza/track file and find the line "pit_board". Make the first
two numbers 14.4 500, save the file, and you will see the most recent lap
time (it may not work on the first lap). You can do this at any track. The
second number must be more than 300 for it to work. Increasing the first
number moves the board further to the left.

Wait, which numbers should you replace?
30.2 5440.0 -100.0 100.0

That is what it looks like now. What SHOULD it look like after the edit??

Bazzer,
Thanks for the tip and info, works great! Will the same values work on all
the other tracks, or should they be changed?

Yes it will work everywhere but:-
the second figure (520) is the distance in metres after the start line which
the pitboard man stands. If it less than about 300, you will not have passed
the start line when the board zooms towards you, so you will get the
previous lap time not the one you want.

At some tracks eg Spa you may find you are too busy to look at the pitboard
in that position (520), so it might be better to put it at (say) 1000. The
first figure (14.4) is the left/right position of the pitboard man and
probably doesn't need changing, but if he appears to be standing on the
track you can move him to the left by using a bigger number.

Don't change the last two numbers.

Lee,
Thanks so much for all that info - it was just what I wanted to know
as well. Errmm... having been spoilt over the years by GP2/GP3, I
don't suppose there's any numbers that would give more than one
pitboard, so we could have split times??? (Heh! - with jam on both
sides, please!)
