Problem with T2 & GP2 - Please HELP!!

by Lonnie Wong Vero » Mon, 29 Jul 1996 04:00:00

After buying GP2, I decided to take the plunge and buy a T2.  I'm
running a Pentium 75 with an Ultrasound sound card.  I used the single
joystick port on the Ultrasound using the adapter that came with the
T2.  GP2 recognizes it no problem, but I notice that when I try
calibrating it, it is "jumpy", the X and Y values will jump to a value
less than the current X and more than the current Y!  I thought that
perhaps the Ultrasound's gameport wasn't being very nice to a P75, so I
went out and plunked down more $$$ for Thrustmaster's own ACM card and
the exact same problem running the wheel/pedals from the ACM card!!!
When I try to drive, all too often it tries to pull to the left and/or
blip the gas, making driving too random.

Anybody else having this problem or know how to fix it?!?!  HELP!!!  I
want to use this wheel.  All help would be appreciated, please email me
with responses.

Regards,

Lonnie

Yep, I HAD the same problem.
I accidently selected my SB instead of my GUS for the sound and the problems
were gone.
Now I can race all games with my T2 and without my GUS.

Greetings, Felix!

Problem with T2 & GP2 - Please HELP!!

I took Michael Carver's advice on another T2 matter and bought some
Radio Shack Tuner Solvent/lubricant. I was a little irritated at the
price ($9! for a little can of mineral oil plus who-knows-what
cancerous agents!), but lo and behold, it solved my problems! It was
well worth the money, just sprayed a shot inside my wheel
potentiometer,  and I could race again!

Funny, I thought GP2 was so intenesly challenging, even at amatuer,
before... turns out it was my T2 that was intensely challenging! Such
a nice feeling not jumping all over the track.
