problem: Thrustmaster T2 & GP2 : SOLUTION

by Carlos Da Silv » Sat, 23 Aug 1997 04:00:00

Hi.

A few days ago, I wrote in r.a.s. about heavy stability problems with the
T2 wheel.

Here are the two key sentences of my initial post:

"since a few days, I have the problem, that after just 1 or 2 laps, the GP2
car is suddenly
turning to the left and accelerating without even pushing the gas pedal."

"I just have to press any key (!) to regain full control over the car."

Finally, I found what was causing the problem: It was the "power saving
mode" enabled in the BIOS. After changing the settings of this function,
the wheel worked again correctly. That explains why after pressing a key,
everything was "normal" again for a short time - until the system entered
the power saving mode.

Maybe this can help somebody else!

NB: Thanks to the guy who recommended to try the Thrustmaster ProPanel. It
did not help, but it is quite useful.

Regards.

Thanks for letting us know how you solved your problem.  Alot of times
we never even find out if the person experiencing problems ever gets it
solved.  And I never even thought of your solution.  Usually with power
saving modes the monitor will be the first to shut down...
