got a cheap option of either of these two cards to upgrade from my
voodoo banshee.

which one do i get, i know the v3000 is good but is this asus as good
with the d3d patch ?

If, like me, you have a slow cpu, I'd go for the V3.

I have a k6-III 400, with a TNT2 Pro and Voodoo2 12MB.  The V2 is
*significantly* faster running GPL in glide than the TNT2 is running it in
D3D.
