I use a momo now but always felt my ms wheel was not bad for the money.

But, I kind of saw this coming. Microsoft has not updated the software in
nearly five years, and they cheated big time on the Windows XP WHQL
certification for SideWinder 4.0. They didn't even FIX the thing and just
graced it with WHQL certification. I guess when you own the keys to the
certification Lab, you can do whatever you want :(
I can't help but think their push on Consoles doesn't have something to do
with this. This is Microsoft's way, take away the other choice, and then
leave no choice.

I have the older CD and it installs fine if you click 'ok' on the
warning screen, and haven't had any problems with the wheel working
(Precision Pro). I'm thinking about buying a ffb while they're still
available tho, and if there's a problem with using it in XP I'm iffy
on invesing $70.

You kind of missed my point :)
Do you know of ANY other manufacturers WHQL Certified software that at
launch states it's not compatible with the Operating System you are trying
to install it on, yet it gets 'granted' WHQL certification anyway?

However, I think it's price (about $80) still makes it a
consumer-class product, doesn't it?
SkykingUSA, er, RoadKingUSA in this group I suppose

And don't even get me started on Logitech pedals :) The MSFFW has the best
there are.

I like the 6 buttons on the wheel which are easy to reach, the two
large, easy to reach levers, I love the shifter lever and that it can
be mounted on either the left or the right side. I like the feel of
the *** wheel and the design, I love the gripping mechanism - it
has never slipped once for me, where my old Thrustmaster wheel used to
slip. I like the pedals and how they have the little carpet gripper
on the bottom which is retractable. I sit mine on a plastic chair
mat, so I just put that non-slip *** stuff on the mat to prevent
slipping (the stuff they sell for shelves so things won't slip). I
just thought it was the best wheel overall for the price when I bought
it a few months ago. The reviews I read online also stated it had one
of the best feeling force feedback too.
I suppose time will tell regarding the lasting quality of the wheel.
I'm glad you like your Microsoft one, but for my money I'd recommend
the Logitech MOMO Racing wheel to my friends.
