Intergraph 3D and Win95 Desktop

Hi,

I just installed an Intergraph 3D card on a Micron P200.  Sometimes the
desktop icon for "My Briefcase" appears as a yellow folder and sometimes
it appears as the correct briefcase icon.  Also some of the small icons
next to programs from the Start menu have changed to something funky as
well.

Anyone seen this and know what's going on?

Regards,
John

Try removing the file ShellIconCache.dll from your Windows folder, it
may be corrupt.  Next time you restart Windows, all your icons will be
reset and this file will be replaced.

>Anyone seen this and know what's going on?

I have seen graphics glitches like this in Windows and DOS programs.
The most common glitch I see is creepy crawly lines on the edges of
cursors and status bars.

I have reported some of the problems I have found and Intergraph has
assigned one problem number.

I have not heard any progress on this problems.

I visit their web page from time to time and I am sad to say that
there has not been a fix or a new bios level released in a while.  I
had to upgrade to the 74 level BIOS before they would listen to my
problem reports.  The 74 level BIOS had very little effect on any of
the problems that I had.  I have two identical machines with Intel
Motherboards and identical Intergraph Reactor video cards.  Both
machines have the same problems.  If I only had one machine, I would
have already tried to return the Reactor (now Intense) video board
because the glitches look like hardware problems.

Intergraph had great support the first month after the Reactor was
released.  I guess they figure they've got their money, because I too
am disappointed that they have not written current a current Bios or
fix for some of the problems that occur.

Since installing the reactor, I have never been able to view ANY video
in Need For Speed.  I get no support from either Intergraph OR EA.

Go Figure

Intergraph also states in the FAQ's on the Reactor page that a driver
for NT4.0 is on the way... wonder if we will ever see another update.
Seems like Intergraph wants to forget about the Reactor as a bad
dream.

Rendition has a new set of Win95 and NT drivers in alpha testing right
now.  They should be ready to go pretty soon, and will then be given to
Intergraph, Canopus, and Creative Labs for the final tweaks and
customization.

Trust me when I say that the NT 4.0 driver for the Reactor/Intense
3D 100 will be out soon. I have it on extremely good faith that this
will be happening in the very near future.

Go To  "comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.video " or you might contact Intergraph.
