CPR - Pure 3D

What can I say, what a deadly combination! Running CPR in full screen (
640x480) high-color well in excess of 35 frames a second, with full
details and cars!

CPR and Pure3D both ROCK! That extra 2megs of texture ram, really makes
a huge difference! GET IT!

Just wondering if this is after the "patch" that is being released to
beta-testers? What speed system you getting this on? I have a P166MMX
w/ Pure 3d and with all graphics including the***pit off, can only
attain that type of mark at spots with many dips into the low 20's.
With just the***pit on, forget it. I only see high 20's as tops with
dips into the ***s. This is with the demo release.

Just curious,

Ron L.

I have a P133 w/Pure3D and get 17-23 fps at Laguna Seca in professional
mode, single car, best image quality, with sky off, draw hills off, track
side objects off, and steering wheel off.  All of the road tracks that I've
raced are smooth enough (not ideal, but acceptable).

A friend of mine downloaded the demo and gets between 35 and 60 fps on a
PII-300 and Riva, all details on, so I know these frame rates are possible
with the latest hardware.

Please tell me what type machine you are running as well as your
detail settings in CPR. I have a  P166, 32MB, and Pure 3D and I get no
where near 35 frames per second with all detail OFF, including
***pit. If I have any amount of detail on, I will not achieve over
20fps, usually closer to 10-15fps. It IS running in full-screen, no
windowed mode, and the Pure 3D card is kicking in.
All my other 3DFX enhanced games like Quake 2, Jedi Knight, Need for
Speed IISE, Longbow 2, Extreme ***, G-Police, Motoracer, F1
Racing, etc. all run great.
From the benchmarks I have seen at THE APEX(http://www.racesimcentral.net/)
benchmarks page, it appears that the processor speed has alot more to
do with the frame rate performance than the 3D accelerator. In fact,
according to the same benchmarks page, it would appear that even a
PII300mhz with 64mb of ram is unable to achieve the frame rates that
you claim. Full detail and cars I highly doubt it. The Pure 3D is a
great card, but the extra 2megs of texture ram is not capable of
performing magic it would require to run CPR at Full Detail and cars
at 35fps on any machine.
Anyone else out there with a Pure 3D and this frame rate performance
please post your results and machine specs as well.

Although I never have a chance to measure the frame rate with CPR, the game
runs great on my P 166 with MMX, 48 RAM, and Monster 3D.  I think the size
of RAM is an important factor.
