USB Andretti racing wheel

by lavoiedan.. » Mon, 08 Nov 1999 04:00:00

Hi!

I have a Celeron 450, a Banshee card W/16 Meg RAM, 32 Meg RaM, etc.

My sound card is DirectX compatible, even though it is a 'no-name' card
{on motherboard sound card).

Here is my point:  the wheel doesn't work when plugged in the USB port.
It works well in the game port, but I really want to use the USB
version (faster, more reliable).

I know my USB port is doing good, because I used a Ms sidewinder
Precision pro digital joystick in its USB version and it worked
absolutely perfectly.  I also used another digital jotstick (a gravis
Blackhawk plugged in the game port) and it also worked without a
problem.

The 'Andretti wheeel USB setup' program tells me everithingg is fine: of
course, it recommends me to reboot bbefore using the wheel, and I do it,
but...  it is still not recognized in the Game device window...

And one more thing:  I don't have any icons in my START menu...  The
installation tells me it is ocmplete (I used the files on your site,
both the 'andretti.zip' and the 'awheelsetup.exe' after having given a
try with the CD-ROM...), but still, I have nothing...

Please answer me soon, especially if you think that it is the wheel
itself that has a problem, not my computer: I only have 10 days to bring
it back to the store...

Do you have USB enabled in your BIOS?
