A company called "Exoto" (Moorpark, CA, 800-872-2088) sells a line of 1:18
scale (assembled) models called "Grand Prix Classics". As I write this, I
have a model of a 1967 Lotus Ford 49 as driven by Jim Clark in the Dutch
Grand Prix at Zaandvoort. It's a metal/plastic combo with very nice
detailing: wired & plumbed engine, working suspension & steering, driver
figure, etc. It costs $98.95, but is worth it for a collector's item. They
also carry a number of other cars from this era and slightly later,
including the 1975 Ferrari 312T, 1970-72 Lotus 72, and 1971 Tyrrell 003.

They have a full page color photo add on the back page of Autoweek.
I'm not a big vintage car fan but GPL has got me looking at vintage
race cars.

For the price of an Exoto 1/18th diecast, you can buy the recently
rereleased 1/12th scale Tamiya Lotus 49 or 49B.
