After seeing Bruce Kennewell's nice Lotus 49 model, I had to have one
myself. I couldn't afford $200 Aussie money (sounds like about a million
US).  As I used to do a lot of work on brass model railroads (learned a lot
about motors and gears) I can certainly appreciate the craftsmanship in
Bruce's. But anyway, I bought one from EWA. It's quite well done and it's
very pleasing. Of course, it's not hand crafted like Bruce's. There are some
pics here for those who may be contemplating one of these.

Yep that's mine good looking and cheap(er)
Hey does yours fall apart like mine does? The rollbar isn't stuck, one of
the air intakes is broken off. Windscreen and driver aren't stuck too. Even
my steering shaft is broken. With a little glue it's all fixed again so
don't worry.
At first I didn't know why there was such a huge price difference between
that Exoto model. But I know now. Anyway I'm glad I settled for the cheaper
anyway.

No. Everything is pretty solid, Tim. I can't complain about how rugged it
is. The steering works and all that.

Be careful with the front suspension, it's pretty delicate.
If you turn the steering wheel too far it can break as I found out the hard
way =(
Your model is the one manufactured by A-Model right?

I'll try to resist the temptation of putting it on the floor and rolling it
around ;)

It's by A Model of China. $30 plus 6.95  3 day UPS in the US.
www.ewacars.com I think is the address for EWA. They have a variety of cars,
but I can't remember off hand exactly what.

I got a great idea, Bruce. I'll trade you this one for one of yours ;)  It's
ummm.... hand made by some Chinaman. A shame the poor talented guy (or girl)
probably doesn't make enough in a year to afford  to buy one.

Now that's a lovely diecast, Mr. GTX. What's the damage for one of those and
do they make any other 60's cars?

Well, I dunno about a trade, mate :-)
But I'll certainly have a look at that site and see what else is available.
I've been after some decent sized 1960's models for a while.
