After being the one who instigated the race today, I had to spend the
mornig helping my wife's parents sort through stuff in their old
condo (they're now living in a retirement home). I didn't get back
home until well after 1:00. Other than Stuart's tale of woe, how did
the race go?

I'm guessing David had some lag at exactly the wrong time - he was about a
second behind everyone else getting off the line. jonathan hit the back of
David and you piled into the back of jonathan. Be sure to check the realism
settings of the server and adjust yours by using the F-keys once you are in
the game - we were allowing invulnerability and the accident shouldn't have
put you out.
T1 was a mess and I wasn't a contributor for a change, although I was so
happy with myself I relaxed and promptly followed Ped into a spin. Ran
around by myself for the first half of the race passing people in the dirt
until I came upon Dave and we had some great racing for second place. I was
slightly faster but much more mistake-prone (apologies for the time I spun
you) - once I got a great exit out of the almost-flat righthander and passed
him clean, then blew my entry to the next corner and he re-passed me. He
drove like ice with me on his tail and got the well-deserved 2nd.
One more apology to jonathan on the last corner of the last lap - I was
concentrating so hard trying to get a good exit to pass you on the straight,
I never thought I would catch you IN the corner.
One of the funnest F1 races I've been in. Looking forward to the next! I
have the replay if anyone wants it.

Well, for my part I was heading into T1 in a less than ideal line, so I
had to brake a bit sooner. This probably caught out the Jag behind me
and he nudged me, sending me into Phasor.
A bit further into the first lap, I hit a curb wrong and spun, messing up
Phasor again (sorry 'bout that).
For the next few laps I had some small dices with a Jag and a Renault,
then once I re-acquired my P4 grid position (where I qualified), I
settled into a decent rhythm. At that point my race was pretty lonely,
but it was fun nonetheless. I did better than I thought I would.
Larry Lindstrom: You did a great job of letting me through when I was
lapping you, thanks.

T1 I just went off on my own since I didn't have the wing. Rest of the race
was at least good practicie. Going into the second to last turn I passed
someone on the outside, that was fun...now if it hadn't been for 7th place I
woulda liked it a bit more.
Also where are you guys getting your setups? I need to find setups with less
exit understeer...that was the main thing that slowed me down during the
race today.

Not sure what happened there to be honest. I thought I wnet when the lights
went off, but I was obviously the last to move.
Spudster was the quickest, and his Q time of 128.1 proved it. I think he
probably outsmarted as well us by pitting once. The car was a bit of a load
with enough fuel for to complete a 40% race. Due to a slow start and
traffic, I was down 15 seconds by the end of lap 2, and eventually Phasor
and I ended up dicing for 2nd for a large part of the race. Tremendous fun.
:-) Everyone drove well, and were courteous when needed.

That was *a lot* of fun. :-) You drove a great race. I watched the replay
and it often looked like the real thing.

I don't understand how you can do so well at GPL and struggle with F1C -
much easier to drive IMHO!. I watched your replay and it looks to me like
you don't trust your steering enough to brake at the edge of the track and
reliably turn in and hit the apex - I'm thinking controller problems. It
kills me you aren't enjoying yourself, you of all people deserve to for
hosting. I'm certainly not the most qualified but if you like, email me and
I'll do everything I can to help you out.

No you didn't - no contact and my spin was completely my fault, as usual.
Damn I wish I could get that one back...

I was circulating alone, the person ahead of me was
17 seconds away and the gap was growing, you were 20
seconds back. I pulled over just past the finish line
so we could do a little wheel to wheel .
You went by, we both spun into T1, and you quit.
I think we could have some fun racing.
Let's try it next time.

My league just raced this track last week so I had lots of practice. You
think a 28 is fast, our top guy turned a 25.4 qual lap... simply left me in
awe.
And yes, thank you to everyone who was more than courteous while being
lapped.
