Hi!
Because of the many racing sims internet competition in the form of
leagues, hotlap competition and such, I would like to see some kind of
internet support in future racing sims. I think such a function could
reduce cheating and increase the driving experience.
One solution is to have a lot of race data saved into a race game file
and to have that game file encrypted so the only application who can
read the saved race game is the game itself. The game should also be
saveable in some kind of report format, a text file easily read with any
self developed league application for easy league management.
Say for example that you download a hotlap from another driver and view
it in your simulator, then you'll see his BHP, grip, processor occupancy
(will stop any slomo-driving), frame rate, car setup, etc.
Or you download a saved race and you can see about the same data as for
the hotlap and also you'll see number of pitstops, how many times the
game was saved during the race (will stop any saving and restarting if
crashing), etc.
/Christer, would really love those features in a racing sim :-)!
