Just a guestion mainly to Papyrus employees here.
What are your thoughts on supporting MMX as well as the
continued support for Rendition and even other 3D
cards for your up and coming racing products.

Keep up the good work.
Thanks

Just complete specualtion here, but I doubt we'll see many more native
ports from Papyrus.  Grand Prix Legends will presumeably be using
Direct3D.

Well, I haven't heard too much discussion regarding MMX at this point.
I've spoken with some of the people here who are most affected by that
issue and the overriding sentiment is that our game has limited areas where
MMX would be  large improvement.  Although, there are some areas we are
exploring for the performance benefits.  Our system requirements currently
do not include MMX, so any strategy we have will be one of mostly
incidental benefits.

As far as Rendition goes, we have plans to native implementations, but our
strategy is allowing us the possibility of using Direct3D if it becomes
worthwhile.  We are kind of holding our breaths and waiting to see which
way the market will go with respect to 3D accelerator cards.  Most graphics
people here, in my estimation, tend to prefer OpenGL more than Direct3D.
But our support for native Rendition (or other cards) isn't gone, we're
just being choosy about where we spend our time/effort.

I'd be surprised if they have anything going with Direct3D yet.  I
imagine since the new version of D3D will be totally different from
the current one, that they're just waiting to see what's going to
happen.  I'm actually hoping for and OpenGL version, since OpenGL
seems to me to be faster. Of course I don't really have much to
compare it to.
