So does that mean that someone's figured out how to edit the physics in GPL?

Would it not make more sense to wait and mod NR2003?  Just a suggestion
since it would be the latest and greatest engine to work with plus the last
:(

The physics engine has long since been hacked (my lips are sealed), altho
there is no provision for the all-important aero component.  Whether or not
the 3DOs can be brought to heel is the more, ah, pertinent question.

Yes.

: So does that mean that someone's figured out how to edit the physics in
GPL?

Someone figured that out a LONG time ago

Depends on what you mean by that. I don't know if the actual physics engine
can be influenced, but the ability to adjust parameters pertaining to the
car, engine/tyre characteristics and its simulated dimensions for example,
has been around for years.

The real trouble is changing the drawn shape of the vehicle to match. If you
look at the screenshots carefully you'll notice the single seater suspension
struts in the GT40 rear wheel well.

Well most of the GPL tracks can be used in NR2002 now can't they?

GPL?

Changing the graphical aspect of a car doesn't mean much about it's physics.
In the *** world, it's two completely separate things.  In all games,
either racing or not.  It won't be until a decade before both get together.
When you have a 3d representation of a car in GPL per example, it's there
"graphically" inside the graphical game engine but there's a completely
different thing that acts in the "physics engine".  Well I'm crudely
simplifying here.

But in this case of your question, "yes" people have changed the physics of
GPL for a long time.

The more mature GPL crowd (the ones who created all the 3rd-party add-ons
for all those years) don't really care about NR2003 or any Papyrus Nascar
simulation, they consider it a second-class release.  You know, "it's no
GPL".  Of course some people will think "No that's not true I don't think
so", but the case is not like that for many.

Well since it uses basically an updated version of the same engine that is
why I thought it might be better.  Not arguing the point just saying is all.
As for a second class release that has to do with the style of racing not
the code itself.  People like different styles of racing but I see no need
to slam one because you like another.
