NFS:PU Weird FF Problem...

by Michael Basde » Wed, 05 Apr 2000 04:00:00

Ok, I don't know if this is a 'feature' of the game or some weird
anomoly I have with my set-up.

When I start the game my Feedback settings seem fine, however as I'm
driving around and bump into things (even the cones in the Rally portion
of test driver) or go over bumps my feedback gets all screwy.  It will
start to be really heavy in one direction and then no feedback in the
other.  Once I hit another bump or cone or whatever, it will sometimes
switch sides!  Is this normal?  I find it really bizzarre and quite
annoying!

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

System setup:
Asus P3C2000 Mobo
P3 600B w 128 MB Ram 133Mhz
Voodoo 3 2000 PCI
SB Live! Value
MS Sidewinder FF Wheel

Same problem here with Saitek FF.

More than annoying it is surprising to me!

Same here. Turning off the collision effects helps. And we serious GPL-hardened simmers never collide with
anything anyway.....:)

I have exactly the same problem, although I only have the demo. Very
strange.....

I use MSFF, BTW.

I think NFS-PU has a lot better physics engine than GPL. NOT! All you have
to do in NFSPU is the to turn the wheel, and the steering gods will make the
car turn. In GPL however, maybe you can turn after a year of playing.
Naaaah, i will just stick to my miata!

I think the is supposed to be damage to the steering of the car.  It
always occurs after I hit something like a sign.  Sometimes if one side
is doing it and I hit the other side it will even out for the most part
;)

I really do like the physics of this game.  After reading some of the
other posts here talking about GPL I am sure I will be flamed for that
;)  The handling on the different designs is well done, the rear-wheel
rear engine handles like it should and requires a different approach to
driving then the front engine rear-wheel drive cars (944) do.

Ron.
