GP2 vs F1RS

That's not the case at all Bruce, by that argument would you accept a
sim with no***pit view? No engine noise? These are also simple
compromises, it just depends upon how each individual compromise hits
each individual customer. Some people love Psygnosis F1, even without
***pit view, driving model, AI etc - others hated it. Your idea of a
compromised product and someone else's may or may not overlap.

How about 5deg? 10? 40 then? At _some_ point it becomes a problem for
you - it's not a black or white issue, it's just the shade of grey at
which each indivdual cries halt.

That was a design decision not at all compromised by having banking.

No, because the tracks themselves are hel up as a the best yet seen in
an F1 sim. I know what BC did to make the tracks and get the designs
perfect, and it was elegant yet simple. It wasn't especially difficult
ot time consuming, far less so than coding a driving model such as
F1RS. Why put all that effort into a product and then fluff something
easy like tracks?

Likewise. Price is not an issue for me (cover your ears Mike!) if the
product is excellent, but I suspect that the casual buyer would be
lost and the overall effect would be a loss of revenue due to a lower
number of units sold.

No, but if they have you'll be happier right? I'm not saying F1RS
absolutely stinks for me, far from it - I gave it 85% and a silver
award in the SRN review. It's just that it could bave been better, and
Suzuka pushes my buttons since it's a track I really like. I have no
illusions that others will share my opinion, but I do expect that they
accept my right to hold that opinion. By mentioning it perhaps F1RS2
will be done right in this respect.

BTW, on that subject I tried Hungaroring again tonight and it's
actually pretty fun. The uphill T4 is still a pale shadow of its
former self but the track overall is enjoyable. Not so for Suzuka,
still couldn't enjoy it at all. From Spoon through to *** is pretty
good, but the rest of the lap is way too flat. Still, one more track I
can enjoy :-)

Cheers!
John
