Need help with Logitech wheel

What version of Windows are  you running?  If it is Win95 you must have a
very late version and have USB support added.  If it is Win98 it should
work.  Did you install the Logitech software before you hooked up the wheel?
As I recall you are supposed to.

Are you sure it is plugged in correctly? When you turn on the power the left LED light on
the wheel comes on showing power to the wheel, after Windows boots the right light should
come on indicating that the connection to the PC is ok or that it is not selected in Game
Controller Properties.

Today I got a Logitech Formula Force USB wheel and pedals.  I
installed it according to the directions but it won't work.  I get
"Not Connected" in Control Panel.

I've uninstalled and re-installed, I've downloaded the Logitech
version 3.3 software, I've reinstalled DirectX.  Still no joy.  I know
my USB ports work because I can use my *** in them.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions anyone has.

My computer is a PII 450, 128 Mb of RAM, Diamond Fusion (Banshee)
video card, Diamond MX300 sound card.  Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro
running on sound card game port.

Thanks!

As Mike asked, what version of Windows are you using?  If you're using
Win95 with USB support (probably OSR2), when you upgrade the Logitech
software to 3.30, you lose USB support for the wheel, but if you go to
the WingManTeam website, you can find the small fix file for this.

click on the "solution" link.

If you're using Win98, well, I'm not sure what it could be.

That's exactly the problem.
Interestingly it's an exact description of the problem that I have.

Remove the Sidewinder device and insert the Logitech device and
it works immediately.
Somehow the Sidewinder software messes everything up.

DO NOT UNINSTALL ANY SOFTWARE.

Just remove one device and add the other.
