I was just wondering what sort of product am I looking for to clean the
pots on my MS Sidewinder stick?

One other Q. Just what is opposite lock? I 've heard it mention numerous
times in here and on TV but never found an explanation.

Opposite lock is when you are entering/traversing/exiting a turn and
at some point steering in the opposition direction.  i.e. If you're in
a lefthand curve but you're steering to the right, you've got some
opposite lock cranked in.

On road courses and in rallying this is used to counter accidental or
intentional over-rotation (so that you don't lose the rearend), on
ovals it's mostly used to straighten the turns by fighting the car's
natural inclination to turn left (lots of opposite lock on most
exits).

There are a number of products made specifically for cleaning pots.  I
don't remember the brand names, but any good electronics supply store
should be able to point you in the right direction.

ABOVE ALL ELSE DO NOT USE WD-40 or anything else with petroleum
distillates.  It turns to gum and actually attracts dirt after the
initial cleaning.

Cleaning a pot is only a short-term fix.  Try reducing the amount of
dust and smoke in the places where you use it.

Eventually pots wear out, and cleaning won't help.

HTH,
Gerald
