F1 2002 + linksys router+ multiplayer

Hi guys

I'm new to the online racing world, and have just got hold of a copy of F1
2002.  I'd like to be able to host a game for the guys at work, but I run my
PC behind a Linksys firewall/router, connected to 1mb blueyonder connection.

Does anyone know for definite what ports I need to forward to my machine to
be able to host a game? I've seen various ranges of ports that need to be
open, but no general consensus from anyone!

Has anyone else out there managed to host games using a Linksys router
without having to use the DMZ 'feature'?!!

Thanks in advance for any info!

Tim

Have you actualy tried to join a race? I have a Linksys router myself, and
for 99.9% of the games I play I don't need to open ports unless I want to
host a race. If I'm just a client then it "just works".  I don't have 2002,
but I don't remember having any problems with 2001.

Hi - Thanks, Yes, I can join races without any problems, but I need to be
able to host races, which is where I need to be able to open the ports for
others to connect...

Cheers

I don't know of any exact informaton about the ports used to host a F1 2002
game.  Myself, I just use DMZ and it works just fine.

f1relay.com has a small section about setting up F1 2001 for multi play.
I'm betting those same ports will work for 2002.
good luck.

Really?? Are you sure?! My manual doesn't have it in it! On page 20, I have
'Racing Lines' - 'finding the limit'!!

Maybe the UK manual is different?! F1 2002?!

Thanks anyway - I'll give it a go!;-)
