After the GP2 experience I will ignore previews or release dates of GP3.
If I see the first (trustworthy) post saying "I bought it, it's great!",
then I will check it out.

Ever? Maybe. Any time soon? Naaaah!

Let us hope that the recent financial results of micro-prose do not effect the release or development
it was not mentioned in their forward looking statements, which surprised me as they did talk
of a number of upcoming games.
Hopefully someone will bail them out.

At this time there are NO plans by either Geoff Crammond or MicroProse to
create and publish a sequel to Grand Prix 2.
Should Geoff Crammond decide to write another game we will publish it as his
exclusive publisher.
When this happens a press release will be issued which can be read on our
WWW site.

The stories and statements on the Internet and in the UK and US magazines
are speculation and rumour.
There is NO GP3 product due in the Autumn and no racing sim under
development at this time.

Mark Rich/MicroProse-Europe

So the Interview with Geoff Crammond in the UK Spring 1998 edition of PC
Format Gold (Special Racing Games Edition) is a complete fabrication is
it?

The whole three page article which includes direct quotes from the man
himself are false, lies, non factual, and total b*ll*cks then are they?

Microprose are, as we speak, sueing the publishers for liable &
misrepresentation I assume?

A reply to answer these points would be interesting and appreciated Mr
Rich......

Well "Mark", if Crammond ever writes it and *you* people ever publish it
then you'd better do a damn sight better job of supporting it than what
you did with GP1 and GP2.

Until you do so then Microprose will always have the stigma of really
not giving two hoots about their customers once the product has been
bought.

One assumes that you meant "libel"?
Why would they be sued for libel, anyway? Who have they libelled?
Misrepresented, maybe, but hardly a case of libel, surely?

I have been listening to all of you whine for the last two years and I must say I'm ***y well sick of it. "We need this and we need that. The program wasn't finished, bah bah bah."  I have to admit that Microprose was not the best choice but give me the benefit of the doubt, will you? I don't intend to go back to them.

However, if you really wanted to show your support you should have gone out and bought the game. Shouldn't you have? I read these groups, and everybody seems to have a copy, but Microprose assures me that only 1400 copies have been sold world wide. So what am I supposed to do with 2500US? You had all better think about the ways in which you show your appreciation in the future. Hadn't you?

For the record, GP3 is done. It's not a 3Dfx mock up of GP2. We started from scratch. It has full dynamic weather and a physics model that makes GPL look like child's play. It will run  on a 286/40 with 2meg ram. It does require voodoo2 though.

You can't have one. Me and my friends are going to play all by ourselves. Maybe we'll post some screen shots and pictures of us in our Hyperstimulators, drinking Guinness.

Maybe we won't.

Now THAT was funny, and ROTF...  Remembers me of somebody from the vege
server...
Btw, we ALL know that Geoff is having some long-time vacations (errr this
means 3years) in his Hawaiian island he bought with the Gp2 money he got
(didn't do nothing after the publishing, so all the money went into his
pockets (well most of it)).  He also made the construction of a
multi-million mansion in this island, with an incorporated private race
track for his enjoyment.

Note that those are not speculations, but the goddarn truth !!!

;-)
