Optimizing Net Connections (was Re: GPL: my retults...)

Hi all. This page has a lengthy guide to optimizing Net connections.
It's
been done for Quake2, but I'm sure it will increase performance for any
multiplayer application. It takes about an hour to go through, but it
changed my life 8^)

Keep in mind that most of the things outlined here are for regular modem
users.  Especially the MTU and other TCP/IP settings.  If you have a
cable modem or xDSL, you should not be using these settings.  As your
TCP/IP settings are really affecting your communication between your
network card and your cable modem/xDSL router.  Don't cripple a good
thing by saddling it with settings for a regular modem connection to the
Internet.
