F1 2002 recomended mods?

by Russell Keatin » Wed, 14 May 2003 12:08:56

I just picked up EA Sports F1 2002.  I was wondering if there were any
recommended mods to make things even more realistic.  I know about the GT
mod, but its way too large for me to download.

I thought at one time I read about a physics mod/setting to make the physics
engine faster (higher sampling rate?) or something like that.  Maybe it was
for a different sim.

Thanks,
Russell

Get a download manager and start downloading the mod at night when you
are sleeping.  It might take several nights but mods like GTR are well
worth it.  Most of the mods are at least 50mb.  The 2002 LeMans mod is
probably closer to 300mb.  BPR and some of those are in excess of 75mb so
there are not too many modem friendly mods.

Here are some sites with more info for mods

OK then...  Ive spent the better part of the last hour re-reading the gtr
readme and nowhere does it say anything about adj for a higher sampling rate
physics.  The closest thing has to do with the throttle blip.

Is it that FN hard to copy and paste JKo?   Or is it maybe a wild goose
chase?

Mitch, in the folder
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\F1 2002\GTR2002save\PLAYER NAME
open the file Driver Name.PLR and find the line
Half Rate="0" // 0 = super-high physics rate, 1 = normal

Make sure Half Rate="0" if it's set to 1 you're on normal physics, however
mine was already set to 0.

I didn't (and still don't) have the readme file at hand, so yes, it's pretty
FN hard to copy & paste. I knew this setting was possible, and thought I had
read it from the FN readme file. Obviously my FN memory failed on me, sorry
about the FN confusion. Hopefully you found the FN setting per Ian's
instructions.

Have a FN nice day.
