Video Card Question

I'm in the proccess of trading in my S3 ViRGE 4MB card for another, better,
card.

I'm interested in good 2D and 3D. However, there are some issues that i
have to worry about and one of them is driver support. I mostly use Linux
and X-Windows (XFree86 3.3) so the 2D part of the card must be supported by
X-Windows. That rules out all Rendition cards. The better supported are the
ATIs, S3s and Matrox.
I use Windows & DOS for games so the D3D support must be good.

I have the following cards at my reach:

        Matrox Mystique 220
ATI 3D Pro Turbo (i think it has a TV-OUT)

My question is, which of them offer the better 2D/3D relation. If it was
only by the reputation & the benchmarks i've seen i'd go for the Matrox
card.

Thanks for any help,
Ricardo Ferreira

Video Card Question

I am in the process of upgrading my P100.  I wanted a faster CPU, 17"
monitor and a 2D/3D video card.  My supplier, wjo has also been a friend
for several years, wouldn't sell me a Mystique.  He said that he has had
performance problems from them.

So what is the "hot" card?  The "All in Wonder"?
