N2002, EA F1 2002, and Win XP Pro problems

I have a framrate problem with these games and XP Pro.  With the default XP
video driver for my Gainward Geforce3 card EA F1 2002 has a good 40fps while
in N2002 it has at beast 1 fps, thats right I said 1 fps!!  I am running
N2002 in Open GL and whatever EA F1 2002 is using as standards.  I can run
N2002 in D3D at 42fps at with no one around.  Now, the alternative.  I have
tried almost all of the Detonator Drivers and here are the average results.
In N2002 I get about 90fps by myself but in EA F1 2002 I only get 11fps.
What gives?  This is what happens on every different driver.  I do have the
refresh rate fix for the Detonator's and using the same graphic detail on
all tests.  I would like to make both game playable using the detonator
drivers but I don't know how.  I make sure that the vsync is off on both OGL
and D3D but it doesn't make a difference. Here are my system specs:  AMD 1.3
GHz Thunderbird, Abit KT7A Motherboard, 512 Micron PC133 RAM, 30 Gig Western
Digital Hard drive, Phillips CD-RW,  Soundblaster Live sound card.  My main
question is how can I get playable fps in both games using the detonator
drivers, or the original ones it does't matter to me?  I have the latest
drivers for all of the hardware so I'm clueless here.  If anyone can help it
would be a great help.  Thanks in advance.

about all I can think of is the vsync might be enabled in opengl.  You can
disable that via the properties or using something like
RivaTuner or NVMax.

Thanks for the quick reply. With the default XP drivers I can't use a third
party program like RivaTuner or NVMax because it says there are no detonator
drivers present. With the detonator drivers I can use these and my FPS are
around 90 in N2002 but only 11 in EA F1 2002. Thanks for the advice. Did
anyone have the same problem or a way to get both working with the latest
drivers? Or is there a third party program that will tweak all types of
drivers. I'm really confused at this and nearly ready to throw F1 game out
the door but it seems very fun when I did play it. Any advice is great.
Thanks, Dave and if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be
great.

Thanks again,

Chuck

I run both with no problems under WinXP. Are your motherboard drivers up to
date?

First off, I do have the latest 4 in 1 drivers for my system installed.  Do
you run N2002 in OGL or D3D?  Are you using Detonator drivers?  If so, could
you tell me your advanced setting in the the display properties.?  I can run
them both in D3D with the original XP drivers but the fps for N2002 is only
about 17 to 20 when playing.  I can't understand why I'm having this
problem.  Thanks for the input though.  If you have any suggestions please
feel free to let me know.

Thanks,
 Chuck
