soda demo and force feedback

I have the soda demo , while I can enable the force feedback checkbox,
I don't feel any feedback in the joystick.  I am running dx 5.0 with
a microsoft force feedback stick.  Has anyone else tried this demo?
Also all the other feedback games work on my machine.

I thought that SODA was using I-Force's API (as supported by CH-Labs'
ForceFX, and the upcoming wheels from TM and Act Labs), not the API that
Microsoft's stick uses.
