Vroc and flashing screen, please help!

128 Ram, Hercules Thriller 8Mb PCI ) I thought it should be OK. But! My
screen ( when on track ) flashes all the time, no matter what I do! I tried
Direct Input ( pull with int. enabled and without ), generic joystick
driver. I have USR v90 EXT, getting 28800 connection to ISP. MTU set to 100
to get lower pings. Anyone have a clue?

Please help!

Thanx,

Borut.

That sounds like a pretty low mtu setting. Shouldn't it be around 576 or so?

Not for GPL. Remember: best pings come in small packets!
Anyway I tried GPL online with software renderer now  and there are no
flashes! Is it a Thriller?

You may get better ping rates with a MTU set at 100, but you are doing
yourself a big disservice with such a low MTU.  You are creating
fragmented packets and the overhead of recofiguring them (or fixing them
if damaged) is larger than any benefit you think you are receiving.
Ping generally sends extremely small packets (64 bytes).  GPL is sending
packets that may reach 124 bytes (at least).  Set your MTU to 576 and
things may improve alot.

Are you using the latest (february) drivers from Rendition?
The flashing screen in multiplayer mode is a known feature with these....

Switch back to the september drivers. Works great here.
