N3 lockup in pit

I have a PIII 550e with Nascar3 loaded.  I use CH pedals and steering
which calibrate just fine and work in other games.  In nascar all is
fine until I am in the car on pit road.  It will then completely lock
up the machine within 5-10 seconds and must reset the computer. I have
a Voodoo 3 3000 with the latest drivers and the N3 patch. I also use
Montego II sound with latest drivers and DX7.0a.  I am at a complete
loss.  I have a second machine with almost identical setup and it
works flawlessly.  Please help me.

  haven't a clue...but...
sometimes upgrading DX overwrites your other drivers.
try reloading the NON-BETA 3dfx drivers and the Montego drivers.
