Hi
Sorry if this is an obvious question,  I want to set up my pedals so that
the brake and gas pedal work independently i.e when I touch the brake pedal
at the moment I get a corresponding lift of the gas

David,
If brake and gas are set up on the same axis, this should happen
automatically (sort of).  In most cases, this is how it is by default.  When
you push the gas pedal, it's like pushing a joystick forward.  Pushing the
brake pulls the joystick back.  Flooring BOTH at the same time gives you no
input in most games (centered stick).  Pushing the brake with the gas floored
will probably give the gas pedal lift you wanted, but it won't apply any
braking force.  I don't know of any way off hand to set it up like you want,
but think it would be kind of neat.

I'm assuming the question is "How to get the brake and accelerator axes
separated?". The answer is: Start Sidewinder Software (if installed,
there's probably a little SW in your system tray (near the clock))
create a profile or edit one of the existing ones. Go to settings and
set Pedals as "separate".

David,

You can configure the MS wheel for independent axes on the pedals. You need
to set up a profile with the Sidewinder software that came with the wheel.
There is a check box somewhere in there regarding combining (or not) axes.
