I am running a 700mz computer, 128 mg of RAM. Will N4 run on my system or would
I just be wasting my money?

Should be OK, as long as you also have a decent vidcard.  What vidcard
you have?

Better pray that your CDROM drive was made at the correct phase of the moon,
or you won't even be able to install the game. I suggest waiting until they
fix the copy-protection mess before you buy what may turn out to be an
unusable CD.

Exactly.. I would say that maybe 2-3% of the users had a problem with it..

Yes it will, not sure what vid card, do yourself a favor and grab a GeForce2
for it if you don't already have one, you'll be happier.

Running an NIC std cd rom, and a Plextor read/write cdrom in same system, no
problems at all.
I would say odds are very much in your favor it will run.

Ed,
Greetings-
Just picked up N4, I'm not installing it yet.
I Have a P2 400 196 mg ram, Voodoo3 2000.
GP3 (dx8) runs excellent, options maxed, and at 1024, allways under 100 %
GPL runs fine in 1024 though with 19 ai i need to turn the detail down.
1. You think N4 will be playable?
2. would you reccommend a vid card upgrade for my system and which one do
you think would help a P2 400?
Thanks Ed,
Your the man.

Honestly, the best thing you could do for your system is to upgrade the
Processor.

A Better Video Card really will not help you much because your processor
will still be the bottleneck in the system.

Guess I'm one of the 2%.  Installed all the latest drivers, ect but game will
only run with the NO CD exe.  I'm losing valuable online seat time, however
:-)  Still waiting for a patch.

Game won't run for me, but I have an old CD-ROM.  Don't remember the speed,
but I'm sure it's slower then the 8X speed the box says is minimum.  Anyone
else with an older, slow CD get the game to run?

Maybe it is time to buy a new cd-rom...  Not saying that you should have to,
but I know that when I had a 8x CD in my 2nd machine, I would HATE loading
programs from it.  Once you get used to installing a 500meg game from a 40x
or higher cd-rom, doing it from a 8x takes forever.   Plus they are pretty
dang cheap these days.  You can get 40x cd-roms in the stores for about $35

Yes-it will run provided you follow these instructions to a tee:

First-you must atone for all past sins and transgressions to your nearest
voodoo healer.
Next-tear out your existing CD-ROM drive and dance on it then throw it away.
Next-purchase at least 2, preferably 3 new CDrom drives so that perhaps one
will run the "game"
Next you must re-format your HD and reinstall everything-a nice fresh system
for Papy!
Next-throw out your recently purchased VID-CARD and invest $500 in an GE
Ultra.
Next-Tear out your inadequte 500mhz processor and purchase a 1.2 ghz. While
your at it replace your MOBO as well.
Next - and this is very important - DO NOT COME TO THIS NEWSGROUP UNLESS YOU
ARE WEARING YOUR PAPY-ISSUED BLINDERS!!!
Next-download warez copy of game-since that is the only version that
actually runs.
Finally-crank up the "game"-set all graphics options to no more than half-go
directly to Bristol and beat the ***out of all AI at 103%. DO NOT QUESTION
THE 10 DEGREE BANKING AT BRISTOL!!!!IT IS JUST AN OPTICAL ILLUSION!!!

That about does it!
Anyone else wish to expound?!

Aside from pegging out my trollometer, this post begs me to ask the question:
How do you set up a kill file?  I'm using Netscape's newsgroup reader.

You probably cannot do this upgrade.  The Katmai chip that comprises the PII
is typically in a motherboard that will NOT support the Coppermine PIII
chip.  /TomH
