I just got confirmation from Rendition's Jay Eisenlohr that Nascar
Racing 2 will indeed be Rendition Ready out of the box.  If you don't
already have a Rendition card, what are you waiting for? =)

<sigh> I was waiting for one of the manufacturers to release the
Rendition as a 3D add on board without VGA. It would be an extreme
waste of money for me to pull out my Lightspeed 128. Any chance of
this?

Can someone clear this up for me:  When a pgm is "rendition ready",
does that mean that it can also utilize (for instance) a 3D board
based on the voodoo chipset (like Orchid's)?

I would expect that if a game was Win95 and used Direct3D, it would
work for any 3D board that supported Direct3D... ???

Thanks.

Rendition-Ready doens't have anything to do with Direct3D support.
If something supports Direct3D, then it will work as you have stated
(will work on any card with Direct3D drivers).

Rendition-Ready are games that are written specifically for the Verite
chipset (Intergraph Reactor, 3d Blaster, Sierra Screamin 3D). I think
RR also requires use of anti-aliasing and 30 FPS support on a P-133.

Rendition Ready does not necessarily exclude Direct3D titles.  Any
supported API may be used, but most are using Rendition's Speedy3D
(i.e. direct ports).  The hardware, of course, must contain a Rendition
graphics processor.  There are currently 4 minimum requirements to get
a Rendition Ready Logo on a sw package:

1. Texture Mapping
2. Perspective Correct Textures.
3. Bi-Linear Filtering
4. Greater than 25 fps on a Pentium 166mhz processor
