I'm having the same problem. I tried the following to no avail:
1) Copied the mscart.exe file to the \windows\temp folder
2) Reinstalled DirectX 5
3) Install from the internet as well as save it to hard drive first
4) Copied the mscart.exe to the root directory of the windows 95 partition
5) Download the file again to check for corruption
I did get the game to work in Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3 though.
However I'm getting a message that the game could not find the direct sound
driver and is using software emulation which cause the sound to be very
choppy. I have the latest driver from Intel for the sound since the
motherboard is made by them. I have the following hardwares/software:
Dell Dimension XPS H266 w/ 512K L2, 32MB Intel FX chipset
On board Yamaha OPL3 with wave
Matrox Millenium PCI w/ 4 MB
Windows 95 OSR2.1 w/ DirectX 5
Windows NT 4.0 w/ Service Pack 3.0
Could someone help me out with either OSes to run the demo?
BTW, I also tried it on a Compaq Deskpro w/ Pentium 166 and the same thing
happens when I tried to install it under Windows 95.
Thanks in advance.
