Some people have found that uninstalling the demo and reinstalling clears
up the Thrustmaster problem completely.

We are investigating the cause on our side.

Here is an excerpt from the thread "CPR Steering Jittery? ..."

"Well, I've had trouble with steering problems, both with joysticks
and a T2 in CPR.  I had trouble keeping it on the track on the
straights, must less the turns, every little twitch would lead to
overcorrection.  Well, I've done the reinstall route and *drum roll
please* it's made all the difference in the world!  "

Dean,

I too read these posts and reinstalled. It worked better, but I still
have a hell of a time just keeping the car on the track. The steering
input is still very touchy. This is very unrealistic, as the the in car
camera's show the drivers really cranking the wheel on the real thing
with very little tire response. The car just sort of flops all around
the track. I at first thought that this was your attempt to model bumps,
but the sutuation is luicrous. There is no sense of solidity at all. I
would like to have a degree of control comparable to that in GP2 with
traction and steering help on before I commit to buying this product. I
spent enough frustrating hours on Papyrus Indycar 2 spinning out at
40mph at mid-ohio and I don't want to repeat the process. I have set the
contols to "Race Car Contorller" and "Thrustmaster T1-T2 with adapter",
even though I have a Thrustmaster Grand Prix 1. Could this be an issue?

Thanks Ron, I'll try it.

Set your controller to Joystick under the options in CPR. Leave your
w95 control panel set to the Thrustmaster T2..... Adjust the "two
sliders" Speed/Linear to be about at 50% in the CPR settings also.
This greatly improves performance with the T2.

My main problem with the CPR demo is the issue of "Framerate" on my
3dfx system. I have found the actual driving model much better than I
previously experienced by using the above method, however, nothing
short of turning off about all the graphic extra's is giving me
anything close to a still broad range of 20-30fps which is not
acceptable for me.  Good luck!
