If Steve Park was a cat - I think he may have used up all 9 lives.  He's even
starting to sound like a boxer who's been hit in the head too many times.  I
think he needs to get out while the gettin's good...

seeing the pictures of the crash why don't they have gravel traps instead of
grass between the track and the fences ?

Gravel traps don't help much.

Maybe Crusty should listen to his spotter or keep his line if unsure. If
anything, admit it was his fault. Oh well.

Yep.  Better than grass, but pavement slows a car down more than
anything.

Wider pavement + tire walls + humpy bumper = no more fatalities.

I don't particularly care much for Rusty Wallace.....but I didn't hear him
dodging responsibility yesterday for the accident that took out Park and
Little E.

In fact he said he "thought he was clear....and wasn't.  It was one of those
racing accidents that happen because we can't see down to the detail of
inches....and I was short of clearing by inches.  Pocono....is not a place
where your spotter helps you much....they are too far away from the cars to
do that."  [paraphrased]

From what I saw in video replays......his description is accurate.  That's
not a "fault" incident...just a racing judgment incident...and that can
happen to any driver at any time....IMHO.

In this case....I think Rusty needs to be given a break on having "caused"
that accident....

I have to agree with Lannie, I thought RW was doing his damndest to blame
Park for the accident.  Whether it's called a racing judgement or fault, the
fact is that Park had position and the 2 went up into him.  I was annoyed
because it was clearly Rusty's fault yet Rusty was trying to pass the blame.

Simple fix, put regular side view mirrors on the cars, then they have no
spotter to blame.

Sadly, I have to agree.  That man's taken WAY too many hits.

I'd like to see him stay with DEI in some way, though.  IMHO, he has "Taken
one for the team" enough times to warranty a little loyalty.

Rusty is not good at admitting fault.  That's one of the things I don't like
about him.

Don't tell my mom, though.  She adore's the guy :)

I think so too.  That's the way I read it.  He kept on with the "Someone hit
me in the rear" stuff.

He's not good at admitting fault.
