IndyCar II--Pocono (Pocono.txt file) help?

by Walt Ottena » Sat, 20 Jan 1996 04:00:00

After copying Pocono track from NASCAR  over to Indycar2 dir and
running the track, which BTW, is KILLER, I cannot get the AI cars up
to speed--i.e. they will keep up on the straights and slow DRASTICALLY
around the corners (lack of traction?).  There is a traction setting
in drivers2.txt file of car set yet I have seen no difference when the
values are changed.  Is there another line in the Pocono.txt file that
governs not only the adhesion of the track but also the location of
the pits?  This track for ICR2  I know is not supported by Papyrus so
I don't expect a factory  answer, but has anyone else experimented
with this track and gotten any different results?

I don't know if you copied the files manually but there is a great
util called NAS2ICR which we have a copy of at The Pits.

I't will copy the Nascar tracks properly and put the pits in thr right
places and correct colour errors.

I know for a fact that Pocono is a problem because ti believe the
LP files, which contain data on how AI cars should drive, it from
Nascar and therefore the Indycar AI drives to this pattern.

I don't now why its called Artificial Intelligence cause all it does
is follow orders! ;-)
