DRIVERS2.TXT

I am making a carset of the cars from the local short track I go to every
week.  Though the cars don't look that good (I'm not good at texturing
like those at IWCCCARS are, mine are always flat looking) it's still good
enough for me.  Anyhow, a lot of drivers at local tracks run letters in
their numbers (L2, 5m, R5, B49, etc). How can I get the txt file to read
numbers with letters?  Also, how can I possibly change the cars and tires
lines so that the choices of tires might me Hoosier and McCreary, and the
choices for cars, say in a car set for 4 cylinder cars could be Ford,
Chevrolet, Toyota?  Maybe this could be something fixed in NASCAR 2.
Thanks!

Nobody has figured out how to do this yet!

In ICR1, you could name your chassis and engines however you want, with
variables in the text file determining the power and handling
characteristics instead of that being built into the game.  Alas, they
dropped that for NASCAR and ICR2, so you're stuck with what they give you
(and they won't do update patches to let you add new manufacturers, even
though Eagle and Toyota are now in Indycar racing, and Lincoln may now be
returning to NASCAR).

You can edit drivers.txt to include additional manufacturers, but the minute
you exit "Driver Info," the changes you'd also make in drivers2.txt are
erased and reset to the default variables, even if you don't try to do any
editing within the game.

Hmmmmmmmmmm. Is there a difference between the engines, chassis, and tires in Nascar and
ICR2? If there are differences, could you tell me what they are.

-Dan? (the Skinny Puppy)

        The night lifted,
Leaving behind it a grayish light the color of stagnant water.
Soon there was only a tattered fragment of darkness,
       *** in midair,
On the other side of the window.
        Fear caught my throat.
The tattered fragment of darkness had a face.
Looking at it, I understood the reason for my fear.
        The face was my own.
